ITOCHU Singapore Pte Ltd is part of the ITOCHU’s Asia and Oceania Bloc, and our bloc will grow together with the countries, a region that is home to ample potential for future growth and a population of 2 billion people. Despite the slow economic recovery happening worldwide, Asia & Oceania’s economic growth is steady and promising. We will continue to devote our energies fully to enlarging our operations through the following activities.
Asia & Oceania Region economy is closely related intra region as well as every other region all over the world, with sufficient and various business chances. We are looking forward to doing business together with all of you from the ITOCHU Group worldwide.
As a President & CEO, I have three roles here in Singapore. First role is to run an operation of entire Asian and Pacific areas. Second role is to strengthen partnership among the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP); Thailand's largest private company and one of world's largest conglomerates and CITIC Limited; the biggest conglomerate in China, to create new businesses. And last but not least, my third role is to operate ITOCHU Singapore’s business.
I will do my best to make each business bigger and successful, together with you - so need your support. Please do your best and let’s make Singapore successful and make everybody - all of you happy.
In 1858, the Parent Company was founded by Chubei Itoh who began linen trading in Japan at the age of 15.The Company’s initial focus was on textile trade area. Subsequently, it expanded into other areas from grain and canned goods to aircraft, electronics and services such as foreign exchange and leasing.
C.Itoh & Co Ltd was first established in Singapore as a Representative Office in 1956 and later upgraded to branch status on 27 Feb 1963. C.Itoh & Asia was established on 2 Oct 1989. Then it underwent a structural change in which the business activities of the Singapore branch was merged, and using the name of C.Itoh Asia Pte Ltd on 1 April 1991.
On 1st Oct 1992, it was renamed as ITOCHU Asia Pte Ltd. It was changed again on 1st Oct 2002 to ITOCHU Singapore Pte Ltd.
